Life is a
task of explorations; by the way we choose it. A Pilgrimage can be a
life-changing and transformational experience. It is a time to let go of the bad
things in past and allow the new to come in. Going on pilgrimage may give us enlightenment
and love for life and it’s purpose. It can become a journey from dejection to
nirvana, from self centeredness to an enhanced sense of relativity. A journey
to have a greater appreciation for life’s gifts.
Mt. Kailash,
the striking peak standing in the remote south-west corner of Tibet in the
Himalayan Mountains is one of the highest parts of the Himalayas and serves as
a source of some of the longest rivers in Asia called Gang Tise or Gang
Rinproche in Tibetan language. It is a prominent peak. Mt. Kailash is a
wonderful diamond-shaped mountain that is surrounded by beautiful landscape
which is rugged and dry. Mt. Kailash has the unique distinction of being the
world's most venerated holy place that it is the less visited. The supreme sanctified
place of religions and zillions of people, but only a thousand visit the place
regularly. It has a 22,028 foot-striated pyramid with a diagonal gash on one of
its faces. The journey to Mt. Kailash is an important pilgrimage for millions
of people. It is believed that one circuit of the sacred Mt. Kailash(54
km/32-mile) is ample to wipe out all the sins of lifetime.
Mount Kailasa
is believed in many divisions of Hinduism as nirvana, taken as the final destination
of souls and the holy center of the world. The narrative in the Puranas says,
Mount Kailash's four faces are built of crystal, ruby, gold, and lapis lazuli. It
is referred as the pillar of the world that ascents 84,000 leagues high. From
it flows the four rivers, which extend to the four quarters of the world and
divide the world into four regions.
