Situated in the state of Rajasthan, Ranthambore is is an ideal spot for the natural lovers. Placed in the Sawai Madhopur district, there is the famous ‘Ranthambore Tiger Reserve’, which is much a compact forest, but the place is spread over a sprawling undulating terrain of Aravali and Vindhyan ranges. As per the records, an approximate area of 393 sq. Km is been occupied by the park.
Having mentioned the introductory features of the forest, we can get into the details of the system here, wherein a total of three artificial lakes have been featured here in the park and adds an enchanting beauty to the whole atmosphere as well. As we are counting this places in our tourism destination over the rich density of tiger population, it is been rated as one of the highest tiger populated tiger reserves in India. And not much surprising to see that Ranthambore National Park has been listed as one of the most visited national parks in India. It was in the year 1957 that this area received the wildlife sanctuary status and was declared a National Park later in 1981. The park, which is open for guided tours in the morning and in the evening from October to June, offers some interesting experiences throughout the journey. Visitors are open to the options of exploring the places with a Gypsy or Canter. Offering some spectacular sights, this area houses various species such as leopards, hyenas, sambhar, jackals, deer and many more. It is been considered that the place is home to more than 260 species. Well, mainly known for its tigers, there are the chances of one not getting to see the Tigers at all time.
When you take some half an hour journey from Ranthambore, you can land at ‘Surwal Lake’. The beautiful lake, which enjoys great natural beauty, is been considered as having the best time to visit during November and March. The lake, which is being a seasonal lake, you can see the lake in a very much dried condition during the time of April and May. Located on the borders of Ranthambore National Park, a great Jeep Safari through the ‘Kachida Valley’ is an added asset during your journey to the place. Giving a plentiful view of many panthers and Leopards, the real thrill of an adventurous trip lies in such magnificent journeys. On the other hand, the ‘Raj Bagh Ruins’ is the place that can possibly take you to the past and back to prehistoric times. Boasting a great collection of prehistoric monuments, Raj Bagh Ruins offers an elegant experience that reminds you of the bygone era.
Now, entering to the ‘Ranthambore Fort’, which is located on hilltop, was constructed in the year 944 AD. Giving you a splendid view of the ‘Ranthambore National Park’, this 7 km circumference had remained a powerful fort from the time of the inception. Built by a Chauhan warrior, the fort was subject to numerous changes. The fort displays a much awe-inspiring craftsmanship, so are the enchanting interiors. You can also have a close look of many migratory birds in great numbers as many water bodies are located here.
