Bengaluru (Bangalore) , Karnataka

Known as the ‘City of Gardens’, Bengaluru is one of the most attractive and vibrant cities in India. With many beautiful parks, impressive buildings, the lifestyle of Bengaluru too is racy as Bengaluru has one of the fastest growing economies in the country. Constructed by Kempe Gowda in the year of 1537, Bengaluru has travelled quite a lot to reach the current state of facilities, from just being a place having mud fort and four towers. Perfectly blending the cosmopolitan atmosphere along with that of some aristocratic structures, Bengaluru offers you some magnificent moments.

While enlisting the forts in Bengaluru, we have ‘Fort & Tipu Sultan's Palace’ in our front. This historic fort was originally built in mud by Kempe Gowda, but which was rebuilt in stone later by Haider Ali. The same was yet again improved by his son Tipu Sultan. This ornate structure in wood has a museum on the ground floor. This fort is open to all; however the case with Bengaluru Palace is a bit different as the entry here is restricted a bit. As we mentioned earlier, Bengaluru has some rich traditional structures resting over there. When you look at the temples in the city, you can have a bull temple out there. This Dravidian style temple, which is on the Bull temple road, enshrines a huge bull in a single grey granite stone. The temples such as Gavi Gangadhareswara Temple, Someshwara Temple, ISKCON, and St Maryrsquo Basilica too offer some splendid moments to spend.

Well, Bengaluru is known as ‘Garden City’ and as the name indicates, the city is home to numerous great parks and gardens. Cubbon Park is one such that was spreads over 3000 acres of land. Another such is the famous Lalbagh Botanical Gardens. These gardens were laid out by Haider Ali and were further developed by his son Tipu Sultan more than 200 years ago. Touted as one of the best botanical in the country, they are spread over 240 acres of land. The garden is home to different varieties of trees and plants. And how can you miss the fine the Glass House built there…! Water Features Aquarium, Musical Fountain, Sankey Tank too offers some great time as well. In Ulsoor Lake, you can avail boating and swimming facilities. The city is also home to some great museums and galleries such as Government Museum, Venkatappa Art Gallery. They all displays a wide verities of sculptures, coins and inscriptions and essentially contain the works of K. Venkatappa. Visveswaraya Industrial & Technological Museum, HAL Heritage Center & Aerospace Museum, Vidhana Soudha, Attara Kacheri, Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium and Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath are some other interesting options that can be explored there in Bengaluru. The 65ft statue of lord Shiva situated behind Kemp Fort and on the airport road too attracts huge number of tourists there.

Taking a short drive from the main city will land you in some other interesting places such as INNOVATIVE FILM CITY, Whitefield, The Art of Living International Ashram, Bannerghata Biological Park, Nrityagra and to name a few. The city of Bengaluru is easy accessible and has all the kind of connectivity there – be it through road, rail and air.
